VICKY WEDIG FARENCE Delavan Enterprise Editor
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 23 for an Elkhorn man charged with stealing money from his friend's dad.
Kyle L. Reck, 45, was charged May 21 in Walworth County Circuit Court with burglary of a building or dwelling and misdemeanor theft.
According to the criminal complaint:
Town of Troy resident James Friemoth reported that someone had taken money from his home without permission on more than one occasion between April 1 and 7. Friemoth said he suspected his son's friend, Reck, took the money. The Walworth County Sheriff's Department installed a video surveillance camera in Friemoth's home May 1. On May 5, the camera recorded Reck coming into the home, taking money from a change bowl and coming up a hallway from an area where Friemoth reported cash had been taken. Reck initially denied taking money from the home but ultimately admitted he took change and money from Friemoth's safe, which was open.
