Lutherdale to host annual quilt auction
Everyone is invited to the 24th annual Lutherdale Fest and Quilt Auction on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or until all quilts are sold.

Bidder registration and quilt viewing begins at 8 a.m.

This year's auction features more than 200 quilts, wall hangings, table runners, tree skirts, baby quilts and several vintage items.

Proceeds raised from the event help fund camp scholarships for children in need of financial assistance who wish to attend the Bible camp.

All events are held on the campus of Lutherdale Bible Camp, N7891 U.S. Hwy 12/67, seven miles north of Elkhorn on the shores of Lauderdale Lakes.

Admission and parking are free, and all events and activities are accessible to the physically challenged.

Participants may tour the camp and climbing tower, enjoy animals at the camp farm and do arts and crafts.

There is a play area for kids, swimming and pontoon boat rides on the lake, food concessions including locally grown sweet corn, homemade bakery goods, quilter's odds and ends and more.

A silent auction will be held featuring baskets donated by local merchants and organizations.

The quilt preview called Pre-Fest will be Friday, Aug. 13 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. for silent bidding. No quilt sales during this time. Arts and crafts, baked goods and quilters' odds-n-ends tents as well as bidding on the baskets will also take place at that time.

Childcare is available during the event for a nominal charge.

Toddlers can play with babysitters, and school-age children can attend two mini day-camps (10 a.m. to noon or 1 to 3 p.m.) with storytelling, face painting and games among other activities.

For more information regarding the Auction/Fest, call (262) 742-2352 or visit www.lutherdale.org.
